Muhammad Yunus, the pioneer of Grameen's Bank has a special opinion for the poor people, he said ' to me, the poor are like bonsai trees. When you plant the best seed of the talest tree in a six-inch-deep flower pot, you get a perfect replica of the tallest tree, but it is only inches tall. There is nothing wrong with the seed you planted, only the soil-base you provided was inadequate.
Poor People are abonsai people. There is nothing wrong with their seed. Only society never gave them a base to grow on. All that is required to get poor people out of poverty is for us to create an enabling environment for them. Once the poor are allowed unleash their energy and creativity, poverty will disappear very quickly'
I think the development bankers have to change their mind setting in dealing with this group of people in acheiving the social responsibility.
