Prepare to Die

Steve Jobs said:
"remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything -  all external expectation, all pride, all fear of embarassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose."

Knowing that it would be the last effort to contribute will give the bigger performance in doing something comparing to a perception that it would be the second and third chances after this trial. Like a game with three (3) life, a gamer will play like a 'kamikaze' for the first two (2) life but will be more concentrate and careful for the last life which the die of it will give him a 'game over'. Knowing that, it would be the last life, the gamer will be 100% focus as if he is the one who is inside the game and he is the one who will be died soon.

In Islam, there are words of hukama' who mentioned that 'live in this world as if one were going to live here for 1000 years and live for akhirah (hereafter) as if one were going to die tomorrow'. Get prepare for the eternal stability but it does not mean that you need to forget your daily life because world is the bridge to hereafter. The good effort in this world will be rewarded in hereafter.
